Shoes!

The Old Blue Ones.
Hello!
So back in August I did a haul post about a cute pair of shoes that I had purchased from River Island.
Click here to get all of the details!
And recently, because they do have a small heel I had to take them to the shoe repairman to add a new heel part. And I just missed my lovely shoes so much I went online and ordered another pair but in black.

As you can see the black ones have a kind of scrunched up look.

I love the fact that there are polka dots inside, it's so cute!
I love the fact that these shoes are leather! I have already worn them and they are insanely comfortable! If you can still get hold of these I highly recommend it!

Hi Everyone!
Has this question ever gone through your mind... What body shape do I have?
Well if it has, here is a guide to know what body shape YOU have!

In total there are 5 main types of body shape's. Here they are...
1. Petite/Boyish - You are small or average height, you have a small bust and your waist is not defined.

 This is a boyish/petite figure.
This person has a small bust.
Hardly any waist curvyness.
And is quite slim.

2. Strawberry - You have a small butt, broad shoulders, a big bust and narrow hips.

Here is a diagram of what a strawberry body shape looks like ( but its a STRAWBERRY! )

3. Pear/Teardrop - You have narrow shoulders, a small bust but broad hips.

4. Ruler - You have a small bust, narrow hips, a slim figure, long legs and you are an average to tall height.

5. Hourglass - You have broad shoulders, wide hips, large bust but a tiny waist!

Though there is a secret body shape that not many people know of...
6. Apple - You have slim legs, medium to full bust and a curvy midriff!

Well I hope this Blog post helped you to understand which body figure is yours! If you have any questions about this post comment below and I will answer ASAP.
Good Luck.

My interview with Sammy Davis!

Hi Everyone,
On one of my recent blog posts I told you guys that I was going to be interviewing some famous Youtubers/Fashion Bloggers. Well here is my first ever interview on WowitsNelly Presents - Beauty Counts!
I interviewed Sammy Davis, Vintage lover and thrifter.Sammy is a fashion youtuber helping viewers put modern and vintage together to make great outfits. With over 5,000 Subscribers SDV is definitely a great inspiration to others including myself!

Here we go... ( Bold Writing are amswers by Sammy Davis ).

1) What inspired you to make your YouTube account?
I wanted to show fashionistas that they can incorporate vintage fashion into their wardrobe -- because it is looking to the past that we gain inspiration for the trends of the future! I believe that each and every person can wear vintage, and my videos help to show you that by mixing modern with vintage.

 2) When did you start thrifting?
14 years old! In my hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania

 3) What is your favourite decade in fashion? What stand out to you the most
 from it?
My style consciousness is always changing. I think it's why I have such an eclectic style! Right now I'm currently channeling the '90s. Before that, it was all about the '70s and before that I was SO '80s!

I love the '90s because the style was so functional and practical but pretty and sweet, too. Think Doc Marten boots for utilitarian purposes paired with ditzy floral jumpers and babydoll dresses. Girls were a bit grunge and didn't need to be "done up" in heels and skinny jeans. They could wear loose fitting sweaters, boyfriend jeans and an awesome woven belt and look cute & chic. I prefer the early '90s, when Nirvana was big ... this was the best time of the era's representation.

 4) Do you follow trends? If so, which ones are your favourite?
I love nothing more than noticing the trends not only in the mainstream stores but in the vintage and thrift stores, too. You pick up on how what's vintage and in available demand influences what's being sold in stores. Like right now, fringe is HUGE so I'm currently on the lookout for anything fringe, particularly a fringe purse.

But then I have my STAPLES. Sequins ... playsuits/rompers ... cowboy boots ... lace ... overlays that make me look like a ghost ... anything sheer! I have a soft spot in my heart for wearing lingerie as daywear, cut-off jeans, TIE DYE ... the list goes on and on.

5) If you were only allowed to shop at one store, which would you shop at?

Oh this is easy ... Goodwill! ;-)

6) Who or what has been your greatest fashion influence?

Living in London in 2006 completely changed my style perspective. I think that living in urban settings in general. I spent a few summers in NYC in college, which ultimately led to my decision to move here three years ago. I'm constantly stimulated by the style, closets and talents of others. I love how we can influence one another toward fashion exploration and unique self expression.

7) What do you think makes a great outfit?

You know what I really think makes a great outfit? CONFIDENCE.
Seriously. I've worn some ridiculous things, but as people say to me, "You can pull anything off." We can wear what we want when we show that we WANT to be wearing it ... through a killer smile, personality and selflessness to help others. Kindness is karma, and caring is creativity! As we use our confidence to connect us to others, they love us for all that we are ... no matter what we're wearing.

8) What is the most treasured item in your wardrobe/closet?

My mom's '80s cobalt blue body-con dress. It's stunning. I used to wear a bright pink leather belt over it and lots of pearl necklaces. I haven't worn it in a while but I will think of a new way to grunge it up for the '90s ;-)

In general, vintage from my family is most cherished. These are pieces of ME from the past that I want to carry forward, to pass onto others in my life (children, possibly?) in my life.

9) What clothing item have you had the longest?

Oh my gosh this is going to sound CRAZY, but this zebra print tube dress from Express I bought when I was 14! This was 1998! I wore it to a middle school dance. I hardly had the boobs to fill that thing out. But it's such a classic and definitely "in" again with Jersey Shore and what not influencing such scandalous style!

10) Who are your favourite designers?

Anna Sui,  Etro, and recently Band of Outsiders. Sometimes Rag & Bone for something edgy and practical.

11) How would you describe your style?

Lady Gaga meets Blondie meets Stevie Nicks meets Courtney Love (see all the eras combined, ha!)

My style is my experiment, and my experiment is my art. I definitely will take the unexpected and make it expected. Take the ugly and make it beautiful. "Dare to wear" something so that I can inspire others to try it out for themselves, too.

In three words starting with "e", my style is "entertaining, unexpected, enlightening."

12) And finally, what is your favourite quote?

"Carpe Diem" -- it's tattooed on my left wrist.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this blog post about Sammy Davis Vintage... If you haven't heard about her... I will link her Channel etc. down below. Make sure to subscribe to Sammy's youtube and check out her twitter!

Through Out the Years - Fashion! - The 1960's!

Hello Everyone!
Today I am just going to go through all of the different decades of fashion post-1960's. I hope you enjoy this!

1960's :
The 1960's was when really diverse trends came out! This was the decade that broke the rule of fashion and started something new! So what were some of these new clothes?
- Culottes : These were shorts made to look like skirts for women! Really comfertably but still femenine!

-  Box-shaped PVC dresses.
These were one of the most stylish items in a womens closet. Though not  particularly the comfiest!

- Go-go Boots! These were the ultimate trend. A perfect name and look, everyone who wore these was considered stylish!

The 1960's also began the hippie trend!
- Bell-bottom jeans. These are really flowly jeans - That nowadays... I would NEVER wear!

- Tie-dye! This was an amazing discovery and so totally stylish. I still love this technique for clothes but sadly it has drifted for it's SUPER-STYLISH name!

- Batik Fabrics. These beautiful patterns are still in style today!

- Paisley Prints!

 - Mary Quant invented the Mini-Skirt!
And lastly - Jackie Kennedy intorduced the Pill-box hat!

So that was a quick talk about the 1960's fashion! Thanks for reading!

Lush Haul!!

Hello everyone! About a week ago I made my way to lush just to look around and I found two products that I would be absolutley IN LOVE with! To be honest, these are my first ever purchases from lush but I guess you have to start from a little bit and move on to more! This is also my first ever HAUL on my blog which really excits me!

If you are unaware of what lush is I will just give you guys a quick definition : Lush is a handmade cosmetics company, most of their products are made out of fruits, vegetables and essential oils. Better yet, Lush is against Animal Testing and does testing on only vonlunteers! Also lush has over 600 stores in 43 countries so is there is one near you - CHECK IT OUT! - Lets begin :

One of the reasons for Lushs' great success is their handmade, hand-cut Soaps! With lots of different scents and purposes there is definetely a reason to pick some up!
So I got a soap that I had been eye-ing for some time now - Though there was a war between the famous Rockstar soap and the not-so-famous Lemslip Soap. ( By the way - Lush names their soaps!
It took me a lot of time smelling each of them and reading about them but I did later decide to pick up Lemslip! This is a citrusy and fresh scented soap that I totally died for! Also the other product that I purchased really complimented this scent! The lush store says, '' This cleansing Lemon perfectly matched with coconut oit and Irish Moss Seaweed: Condition for olier skin. Freeze it, chill it or use at a bathroom temperature. Smoot over your body then rinse off.'' One ingredient that automatically hit my mind was ''Irish Moss Seaweed.'' The reason for this is because seaweed is amazing and healthy for your skin! Now to Finance, 100g of Lemslip costs £2.89 or $9.25 (3.5 oz) or $7.95 CAD. I purchased 144g (5.08oz) which was priced at - £4.16 or $6.95 or $6.57 CAD. I think that this is a reasonable price for the amount of product that you get!

I did manage to cut the soap up into 5 pieces - It was extremely smooth and easy to cut!

Now on to the second and last product that I picked up! After I picked out the soap that I wanted I decided to just get one more product so I headed downstairs! At my local lush, when you go downstairs there are all the bath stuff( AKA. bath bomb, bath melts, some soaps etc.). There I came accross an emotibomb! What lush says, '' Speed up in the mornings eith a citrusy smack in the shower! Put it on the floor of your shower, turn on the ater, let it fizz up and inhale all the reviving essential oils!'' This soap has an extremely cirtusy scent that really compliments the Lemslip soap... Which is exactly the reason I brought it!This emotibomb is called ''Up you Gets!'' (Don't you just love that?!). Now, finance... This is an 80g Emotibomb you can not (!) get it in a larger size! It costs £1.99 or $4.50(3.2oz) or $4.50 CAD. I really like this product!

So that was my haul! All links will be displayed at the end! Thanks to everyone who read this - Leave a comment below saying what you think or what you got at your local lush store!
BIG QUESTION:::: How much Lush do you have? ( Leave a commetn below!)
Byee!
